Despite the overcast summer and threats of sleet or snow, I promise you Summer is en route!
This year we have two plays, both one act plays, in one night for one ticket!
Directed by Matt Streuli with Keira Randell. Written by Vic Talecks
After surviving the 'Gunpowder Plot', King James visits De Houghton Tower expecting to dined and entertained but with all the hidden witches, vicars and knighted steaks, the visit doesn't quite go to plan.
Then after the interval and raffle...
Directed and Written by Lee Hall - EXCLUSIVELY for IHDC. A private investigator is called to the hotel after a necklace is stolen but he uncovers much more than that. Love affairs to murders with the odd moan in the basement; this is no normal investigation
There are two performances, both plays on both nights, and tickets are on sale now at www.ticketsource.co.uk/ihdc
DATES: Wednesday 8th June & Wednesday 22nd June
TIME: 7:30pm (Doors open 7:15pm)
VENUE: Iver Heath New Village Hall, SL0 0DA
Our informarket is also making a return.
This is a chance for local groups and causes to set up a display at the back of the hall with a view to encourage the whole community to bond and work closer together.
Pinewood Studios and their Pinewood Cinema will be there as will the national Time To Change campaign. The infomarket will be there before and after the show and during the interval with lots of information, news and freebies.
As Chairman (and Director of one the shows) I am really excited. I read both scripts and thought they were funny but seeing them come to life with our brilliant adults and youngsters - they are hilarous! Where else could you come and see two plays for just £6!
I am also proud to confirm that Iver Parish Council has provided a grant to help support our work with our Youth and offset the cost of the plays. All profits from the two performances go towards boosting our pantomime.
In April, a group of our Committee, Stage Team and Wardrobe team gave up their Saturday to completely empty our loft storage so we could 'dispose' of just some of the 'tat' we've collected over the past 10 years since our last clear out.
It was hard but all our props are now in boxes and all our costumes are on hangers. It is concerning that certain items do appear to be missing - at this time we do not know if this is becuase people have borrowed costumes or if other people have gotten into our storage without permission. Either way, we are looking at installing new locks. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who lugged all those costumes, tables and even doors up and down that ladder - you did an amazing job.
Our current plan is for Claire Freeman to direct 'Jack and the Beanstalk', written by Alan Frayn. Please keep an eye on our facebook page for dates and details of auditions - and remember, those who buy tickets to our summer show online get told first when tickets for the next show go online.

IHJS Fete: Saturday 25th June - Times tbc.
We have been invited back to the Iver Heath Junior School Fete. We will have our medieval stocks like last year. We also have a plan to do a 'flash mob' This will involve some practice each week running up to the fete. When the music plays, whatever all of us are doing we all dash to the arena to perform. To do this, we would need to know for certain who would be attending and it would down to each parent/guardian to escort their children/ensure their safety to and at the event. This is becuase the main adults of the drama club will be at the event very early to set up and build the stocks and will need to run the stall during the day - therefore we can't supervise children.
Thanks again for supporting our club. Please do follow us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter for more.
